Description:

René Lalique was passionate about Nature, observing fauna and flora. Fauna would become a major inspiration also for Marc and Marie-Claude Lalique. Each creator had an independent mind of his or her own way to feature animals. While René’s representations of animals were quite detailed, Marc’s were more modern and stylized, such as the 2 Poissons motif. It is through animals that Marie-Claude Lalique got acquainted with the family business: the craftmen of the Lalique factory created a menagerie of fragile glass animals for her when she was a child, and one of her most famous creations is the Zeila panther (created in 1989).
